Addresses Hamilton’s highest charitable needs and opportunities as they arise. Donations of any amount are welcome. Donors whose accumulated endowed donations total $5,000 may choose to have a named fund with the Community Fund.

Benefit specific charities named by you, the donor, forever through annual grant payments.

Enable donors to actively recommend the charitable organizations or programs that will receive grants. Your endowed donation supports the issues you care about forever.

Enable donors to support a specific interest area, including arts and culture, education, health and human services, environment and recreation, with HCF selecting appropriate grant recipients each year.

Assist and encourage promising young students, who may be challenged by the costs of education. Funds are paid directly to the student’s educational institution on their behalf.

Cheques can be payable to Hamilton Community Foundation, noting the fund you wish to support in the memo line. All donations receive a tax receipt. To donate by mail, please send a cheque to the Foundation at:

You can make a one-time donation now, or choose to make monthly recurring donations to a fund at Hamilton Community Foundation, by credit card (Visa or MasterCard) here. All donations will automatically receive an electronic tax receipt.

Securities can be easily donated to Hamilton Community Foundation, either by electronic transfer or by giving HCF the paper certificates if you have them. The donation receipt’s value is established as the closing price on the date the transfer takes place. The gift of marketable securities can give you significant tax savings.

You can leave a donation in your will to Hamilton Community Foundation, as either a specified amount or as the residue, to create your legacy fund. Read more.

You can donate an existing policy or purchase a new one, and name HCF as the owner and beneficiary. By naming HCF as the beneficiary of your life insurance, we will be able to provide a tax receipt.

You can easily name HCF as the sole or partial beneficiary of your Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), or Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF), and offset the taxes that would be payable on your estate.
